Polarized and focalized linear and classical proofs

چکیده
We give the precise correspondence between polarized linear logic and polarized classical logic. The properties of focalization and reversion of linear proofs are at the heart of our analysis: we show that the tq-protocol of normalization for the classical systems LK η pol and LK η,ρ pol perfectly fits normalization of polarized proof-nets. Some more semantical considerations allow to recover LC as a refinement of multiplicative LK η pol. MSC: 03F05; 03F07; 03F52

Denotational Semantics for Polarized (But-non-constrainted) LK by Means of the Additives
Following the idea that a classical proof is a superimposition of`constructive' proofs, we use the linear connective \&" to deene an embedding P a of polarized but non-constrained LK in linear logic, which induces a denotational semantics. A classical cut-elimination step is now a cut-elimination step in one of thèconstructive slices' superimposed by the classical proof.
متن کاملOn the pointfree counterpart of the local definition of classical continuous maps
The familiar classical result that a continuous map from a space $X$ to a space $Y$ can be defined by giving continuous maps $varphi_U: U to Y$ on each member $U$ of an open cover ${mathfrak C}$ of $X$ such that $varphi_Umid U cap V = varphi_V mid U cap V$ for all $U,V in {mathfrak C}$ was recently shown to have an exact analogue in pointfree topology, and the same was done for the familiar cla...
متن کاملA phase semantics for polarized linear logic and second order conservativity
This paper presents a polarized phase semantics, with respect to which the linear fragment of second order polarized linear logic of [Laurent 99] is complete. This is done by adding a topological structure to Girard’s phase semantics [Girard 87]. The topological structure results naturally from the categorical construction developed in [Hamano-Scott 07]. The polarity shifting operator ↓ (resp. ...
متن کاملNon-commutative logic III: focusing proofs
It is now well-established that the so-called focalization property plays a central role in the design of programming languages based on proof search, and more generally in the proof theory of linear logic. We present here a sequent calculus for non-commutative logic (NL) which enjoys the focalization property. In the multiplicative case, we give a focalized sequentialization theorem, and in th...
متن کاملJump from parallel to sequential proofs: exponentials
In previous works, by importing ideas from game semantics (notably Faggian-Maurel-Curien’s ludics nets), we defined a new class of multiplicative/additive polarized proof nets, called J-proof nets. The distinctive feature of J-proof nets with respect to other proof net syntaxes, is the possibility of representing proof nets which are partially sequentialized, by using jumps (that is, untyped ex...
